About Therapy with Me
Life is terrifying, overwhelming, amazing. How are we to live? We cannot do it alone. We are too apt to get in our own way, to miss out on the richness that life and relationships have to offer. The work of psychotherapy involves looking closely at your relational patterns in vivo in order to gain insight into how you tend to be with people, and to build your capacity to form and maintain deep, meaningful connections. With children, the emphasis shifts to developmental issues and takes place primarily in the medium of play.
I work with people of all ages, and have particular expertise in treating children, and parents of children, ages 5 and up. Parents often bring children to therapy seeking help with challenging behavior or other troubling symptoms of distress. I can help you understand the inner experience underlying such phenomena.
Children and adults struggle for many reasons, some of which are connected to the process of growing up and figuring out who we are, while others are embedded in biology and relationships. It is my honor to walk alongside people seeking to understand themselves and find meaning in their lives.
